NYC Private Clubs Under 30: Age Limits, Rates and What to Ask
By the Membrsonly team · 6 October 2026

An age-based membership can change the budget for your first private club. The important detail is the cutoff: under 27, under 30 and 30-and-under are different categories. A discounted rate also says nothing about whether an application will be accepted.
This guide compares publicly listed younger-member options at NYC clubs. It is a starting point for a shortlist, not a ranking of the cheapest or easiest clubs to enter. Check your age on the club’s relevant date, the spaces included and the terms at renewal.
Zero Bond: 30 and under at acceptance
Zero Bond lists a $750 initiation fee and $2,750 annual dues for applicants aged 30 or below when accepted. The first-year membership charges total $3,500 before extras. Its published General tier also starts at age 30, so applicants at that boundary should confirm the applicable rate.

Moss: under 30, with two different kinds of access
Moss lists under-30 All Access at $480 monthly plus $1,500 initiation, and Upstairs at $280 monthly plus $1,500 initiation. Twelve months plus joining comes to $7,260 or $4,860 respectively. Membership is an annual commitment; Upstairs excludes Bedrock Aquatics & Athletics. The club has a 21+ policy, and applying does not guarantee acceptance.

Soho House New York: an under-27 Local House rate
The official New York page lists $475 quarterly for under-27 Local House members. That is $1,900 over four quarters, before any separate joining charges or spending. The age cutoff is narrower than under 30. Confirm what happens when you age out and whether Local House is the membership you need.

Flyfish: a Junior tier, with eligibility to confirm
Flyfish publishes Junior membership at $700 initiation and $2,300 annual dues. Its public rate page does not define the Junior age cutoff; ask before assuming eligibility. Memberships are currently at capacity, with applications accepted for waitlist consideration.

Five questions before you apply
Ask when age is assessed: application, acceptance or renewal. Request a written first-year total, including taxes and required minimums. Check whether the discounted plan restricts guest access or facilities. Ask about the renewal price after the age cutoff. Finally, confirm the waitlist, any recommendation requirement and whether the joining fee is refundable.
A lower rate is useful only if you would use the membership. Think about an ordinary week: a dinner you would actually book, an event you would attend or a facility you would visit regularly. Choose around that routine rather than the discount alone.
